This video is an overview of WICKED VW build including the Stage 2 engine at Schimmel Performance in Sellersville PA, prior to Stage 3 upgrades at RS Motorsports.
Before we look at the engine build, let's look at the chassis modifications.
Schimmel Performance cut the chassis so that the engine and transmission could be dropped out sitting in its own cradle. The cut-out sections were replaced with tube chassis clamps (2" OD, 1-1/2" ID), made by TMR Customs in Canada.
Drop the suspension, disconnect the tube clamps and lower away!
A minor item in the scheme of things but a Must Have.
The Schimmel Performance oil filter housing has a -4AN port to feed the turbo with filtered oil and to get a proper oil pressure sample after the oil filter. All VR6 OEM housing ports take unfiltered oil from the pan before the filter. If you use any OEM ports for turbo oil feed, you are sending dirty oil to your turbo bearings.

The straight-pipe exhaust pipe and Waste-Gate Piping were custom made of stainless, then disassembled and sent out for Swain's White Lightning Exhaust Coating. The custom ss exhaust tip was then added.
White Lightning typically reduces radiant heat by 35-55%.

This was the Dyno tuning of the Schimmel engine. It was restricted to 338 whp due to overheating. We decided to fix that and go the next step in the process - Stage 3 build.
